In September 2018, Egypt and Cyprus signed an agreement for the establishment of the maritime gas pipeline project. Egyptian and Cypriot officials are in « in-depth talks » on a gas pipeline project linking the two countries, Al Mal reports, citing an unnamed government official. Construction of the pipeline is proceeding as planned despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the official said, without giving data or milestones.
